CM: All above 45 years to get Covid vax jab from April 1
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared that all the people above 45 years of age would be vaccinated against the novel coronavirus from April 1 in Uttar Pradesh and asked officials to make arrangements accordingly.
Addressing a gathering at Suraicha village in Sitapur on Wednesday, the chief minister said that the Government of India had opened its COVID-19 vaccination drive for people above 45 years of age.
“All eligible people should immediately get themselves registered and get vaccinated,” he said, adding that everyone should strictly adhere to the Covid protocol and that there was no restriction on the celebration of festivals, but everyone should be made aware of the spread of the novel coronavirus infection.
“Covid vaccines have come but coronavirus has not finished yet. It takes time to develop antibodies. Till then, precautions are must,” CM Yogi Adityanath said.
He said despite having a weak health infrastructure, UP’s management strategy, especially tracking high-risk contacts, had helped the state to control the spread of novel coronavirus in the state.
“As a result, the recovery rate has now reached 95 per cent. This has been possible only because of effective health management and exemplary teamwork,” he said.
