CM directive to compensate farmers for loss of crop due to floods, rains

Reviewing the flood situation in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the officials to compensate the farmers for the losses to their crops after a proper assessment.

Addressing a meeting in Lucknow on Tuesday, the chief minister said, “The loss of agricultural crops due to floods and excessive rains should be assessed. Any farmer, whose crop is damaged, should be compensated as per rules at the earliest. People whose houses got damaged due to floods should also be compensated as per rules. The Revenue and Agriculture departments should complete this work on a priority in coordination with each other.”

Officials were also told to take care of people in the state’s flood-affected districts. The government is currently providing people with ration and shelter wherever people are in need.

To further mitigate the impact of flood in affected villages, the state government instructed teams of NDRF, SDRF and disaster management to work round-the-clock and orders were also given to ensure that relief operations were not delayed in flood- affected areas.
