Congress protests ED quizzing Sonia
The Congress on Thursday staged a demonstration near the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office here in solidarity with party chief Sonia Gandhi against the agency quizzing her on money laundering charges in the National Herald case.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and PCC chief Mohan Markam joined the protest along with Ministers, legislators and party cadres.
Speaking to the media at the site, Baghel scolded ED officials for their bias towards the BJP and criticized the way they were grilling opposition leaders.
“They are government officials and should not become a weapon of the ruling party and should work unbiased,” he said
“Why don’t’ they take action against the Chhattisgarh BJP leader Raman Singh whose name surfaced in the Panama Paper leaks and in Nagrik Aapurti Nigam (NAN) scam?”
He added: “Soniaji declined the Prime Ministership, not once but twice, but has been accused of involvement in a mere Rs 90 crore scam.”
