Democracy, not violence, is best solution: M Venkaiah Naidu to Maoists

RAIPUR: Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday urged Maoists to shun violence and join the political mainstream, reminding them that history has proved all over the world that ballot is more powerful than the bullet.
“Those who believe in bloodshed must realize that nothing will happen through violence. No revolution will take place. The ballot is more powerful than the bullet. No change can be brought about with killings, preventing development, demolishing schools and destroying hospitals,” Naidu said while inaugurating the 18th Chhattisgarh Foundation Day celebrations at Naya Raipur, the state’s new capital. The Vice-President told Maoists that democracy is the only solution.
