Exams should be treated like a festival: PM

Governor Mangubhai Patel along with school children in Bhopal participated through virtual medium in the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s interaction with school children in Pariksha Pe Charcha programme for students at Raj Bhavan. The students of Government Maharana Pratap Higher Secondary School Bhopal, Kendriya Vidyalaya Number One and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya attended the programme along with Governor.

The Prime Minister in response to the questions asked said that the examination should be treated as a festival. The results are always good if you take the exam keeping your mind composed. He said that every person has special talent and speciality, its self-realisation is necessary for self-confidence.

He said that before acting on external things, identify your inner qualities and do what is needed in the present. Giving the example of land, he explained that it produces seeds on the basis of its inherent qualities. He said that changing the medium of teaching is the process of development. Today there are unlimited sources of knowledge. The need is to limit them with discipline and combination of online and offline mediums. Online to acquire unlimited knowledge and offline to spread and enhance it. He said that the National Education Policy is an opportunity to join the 21st century with respect.

He encouraged them to assimilate experiences, connect with them by observing the surrounding environment, saying that doing so would not lead to disappointment. Memory power will be strengthened and expanded. He said that competition is the biggest gift to move ahead in life. The present generation is fortunate that they are getting many opportunities along with tough competition. The need is to not let the opportunity go to waste and to face up the challenges.

He told the students to write letters to the exam and tell it how much preparation they have done to beat it. This will give them new enthusiasm and confidence. He told the need to put into practice the utility of time for a conducive environment for themselves through self-observation.

Also asked to keep analyzing the subjects. He said that in order to experience bliss, it is necessary to be a priest of virtues. The mind is fickle. There are always two options before the mind, one that is dear and the other that is best. To keep the mind steady, efforts should be made to take it towards the best. By doing this the concentration is strengthened, whatever you read and do, it gets imprinted in your memory. He said that the question of future never arises in front of those who fulfill the needs of the present in life.

Pariksha Pe Charcha was organised at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. Models, artifacts were also displayed by the students on various aspects of the National Education Policy. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was also present in the programme.

On this occasion parents, teachers and school children presented their problems and queries through direct and virtual medium.
