Farmers can pay the cane value at the right time: Yogi

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the farmers to pay the outstanding cane price on time. Yogi said in a review meeting regarding the operation of sugar mills and purchase and payment of sugarcane at his residence on Monday night, that the farmers should be expedited to pay the outstanding sugarcane price on time. He said that the interest of sugarcane farmers and strengthening of sugar mills is the priority of the state government. There will be no oppression of farmers at any level.

The Chief Minister said that the state government will provide all possible help to encourage the sugar industry. He instructed the officials to expedite the setting up of private sugar mills at the level of the payment of cane price payments. He said that 121 sugar mills are to be operational this year. Of these, 85 sugar mills have been operated. The remaining sugar mills will be operated by November 25. 2 new sugar mills Piparich and Munderwa will start the sugarcane crushing work from February next year.

The Chief Minister said that no rigging and complaint should be received in the sugarcane slip distribution. This year new system of sugarcane distribution has been implemented. On the basis of transparency, the availability of slip should be ensured and farmers can not be exploited. He said that effective mechanism should be ensured to prevent incidence of sugarcane at the sugarcane purchase centers and sugar mills. Inspection of sugarcane purchase centers should be ensured. There should not be any problem in the delivery of sugarcane to farmers and mills to the farmers.
