Grand alliance can’t stop BJP, will bag 74 of 80 UP seats: Amit Shah
MEERUT: BJP national president Amit Shah said the grand alliance will not be able to stop the party’s juggernaut and it will win 74 of 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
Addressing the BJP’s state executive meeting in Meerut on Sunday, Shah said, “Mahagathbandhan cannot stop BJP from coming to power. The party is so strong in Uttar Pradesh that the mahagathbandhan will not be able to stop BJP. We expect a bigger victory than that of 2014.”
The BJP chief said, “If we come to power again in 2019, we will make sure to remove caste-based bias and nepotism. Also, efforts will be made to see that our GDP reaches 15% – after which India will become a world power.”
He was given a grand welcome on his visit to Meerut as supporters showered flower petals on him, as he arrived at Subharti University campus for the two-day state executive meeting. Taking a dig at the opposition leaders, Shah said, “Congress destroyed the entire country during its rule. Political parties who talked about the poor, never cared about the houses of the poor. Only Modi Ji and Yogi Adityantath are working to ensure that the poor get houses.”
