Around 30 countries will be included in the new travel ban announced the Donald Trump adminration in the wake of the Washington DC shooting last week that left one National Guard personnel dead and another seriously injured.

NBC News, citing sources familiar with the travel ban floated Homeland Security Secretary Kri Noem, reported that the l could expand, and it is not yet clear which countries are on the l.
“We will be announcing the l soon,” a spokesperson for DHS was quoted as saying NBC News.
On Monday, Noem said in a post to X last night that she was “recommending a full travel ban on every d— country that’s been flooding our nation with killers, leeches, and entitlement junkies.”
Trump restricts travel to US
The Trump adminration announced several restrictions, including, travel ban, a pause on asylum decisions, re-examining green card applications for people from countries “of concern,” and halting visas for Afghans who assed the US war effort, after the shooting of two National Guard members in Washington an Afghan national.Story continues below this ad

The shooter is Rahmanullah Lakanwal, a 29-year-old Afghan national, who entered the United States in 2021 as part of Operation Allies Welcome, the federal relocation programme launched after the US withdrawal from Afghanan and was granted asylum earlier this year.
According to The Associated Press, even before the shooting of two National Guard members, the Trump adminration was planning a sweeping review of tens of thousands of immigrants who entered the US during the Biden adminration as part of the US Refugee Assance Program.
That program, first launched in 1980, oversees the process which people fleeing persecution can come to the US Refugees are dinct from people seeking asylum, although they meet the same criteria.

This is not the first time Trump has instituted a travel ban. During his first term in office, Trump banned people from seven Muslim majority countries from entering the US.
