International Yoga Day 2023: Yoga education will be mandatory in MP schools, CM Shivraj announced in Jabalpur

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that yoga education will be made compulsory in the schools of the state. He was addressing the program organized on International Yoga Day in Jabalpur. He said that yoga is for staying healthy. This is not a narrow view. Today it is happening in 180 countries of the world. He said that yoga is not related to any religion, yoga is for the welfare of the world.

What is necessary for the development of the country

He said that let us take a resolution on this occasion that today we will definitely do yoga, after that we will do yoga everyday. He said that being ill is injustice to us, we are not able to work because of illness. Because of this, the energy that should be used for the development of the country is not being used. He said that by being sick we become a burden on the country. The Chief Minister said that staying healthy is also the biggest service to the country. That’s why do yoga and stay healthy. On this occasion, he thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he made the whole world Yogmay.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar is the chief guest in this program organized on International Yoga Day in Jabalpur. The Vice President will also address the gathering present on the occasion. He will then lead a mass yoga performance at the venue. Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel, Union Minister for AYUSH and Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal etc. dignitaries are participating in this ceremony.

This year the theme of International Yoga Day 2023 is ‘Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. It is noteworthy that in 2014, the United Nations had recognized June 21 as International Yoga Day through a resolution. The global celebration of International Yoga Day 2023 will be led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the United Nations Headquarters, New York.
