Jaat box office collection day 10: After having a steady week at the box office, Sunny Deol’s actioner Jaat is facing a dip in collections now. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, on Saturday, Jaat earned Rs 3.75 crore India net, which is lower than Friday’s Rs 4.25 crore. While the film’s domestic earnings stands at Rs 69.40 crore, it has earned Rs 89.86 crore worlwide.
Jaat recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 15.77% on Saturday. Morning shows saw an occupancy of 6.34%, which rose to 14.72% in the afternoon, 17.80% in the evening, and peaked at 24.21% during the night shows.
With the Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Ananya Panday starrer Kesari: Chapter 2 releasing to positive reviews on Friday, Jaat is likely to face difficulty attracting footfalls in the coming days. Kesari 2, which hit the theatres on April 18, earned around Rs 9.50 crore India net on its second day.

In other news, Jaat recently courted controversy after a section of the Chrian community raised objections to a scene in the movie. On Friday, an FIR was filed against actors Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh, and the makers for allegedly hurting religious sentiments. Soon after, the makers issued an apology and removed the controversial scene from the film.
The statement from the maers read: “To whomsoever it may concern, there has been a backlash for a specific scene in the film. The scene has been removed from the film with immediate effect.”

The statement further read, “Our intention was not to hurt any religious sentiments. We deeply regret it and have taken a quick action of deleting the scene from the film. We sincerely apologize to everyone whose beliefs have been hurt.”Story continues below this ad

The makers of Jaat have already announced its sequel, Jaat 2. Directed Gopichand Malineni, who helmed the original, the film will once again feature Sunny Deol in the lead role. Details about the rest of the cast and crew are currently under wraps.
