Kerala logs 12,288 new Covid cases
Kerala on Wednesday logged 12,288 new Covid-19 patients out of 99,312 samples tested during the last 24 hours. The 141 deaths registered on Wednesday took the fatalities till date in the State to 25, 952, according to a release by Health Minister Veena George. The minister said Test Positivity Rate in Kerala was 12.3 per cent as on Wednesday .
“The death rate in Kerala continues to be alarming though the instances of Covid-19 has come down. This is a matter of concern,” said a senior office bearer of Indian Medical Association. Schools and colleges are being opened in phases across the State. Education Minister Sivankutty told reporters on Wednesday that all schools in the State would function for six days a week.
Over crowded buses and mini-vans in towns and rural areas are matters of concern as passengers do not wear face-masks and openly violate the norms prescribed by the Department of Health.
