US President Donald Trump made a declaration in a video shared on his Truth Social account Friday. Referring to his ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ (OBBB), he said it “will secure our borders, turbocharge our economy, and bring back the American Dream.” He also called the legislation “one of the most important pieces of legislation in the hory of our country.”
He added: “The day I sign this bill into law, almost every major promise in the 2024 campaign already will have become a promise kept.”
The post followed Trump’s final pitch at a White House event on Thursday for OBBB—a sweeping package of tax relief measures and federal spending cuts. The push comes as the Senate is expected to vote on the legislation in the coming days.

What makes the bill ‘big and beautiful’?
The OBBB is being positioned as a legislative roadmap to deliver on Trump’s second-term agenda. While some elements—such as imposing tariffs—can be carried out through executive action, key reforms in taxation and government spending require congressional approval.
The bill combines multiple campaign priorities into a single package and includes five core components:

Permanent tax cuts: Extends and makes permanent the income and estate tax cuts from 2017.
New tax relief measures: Introduces cuts on overtime pay, tips, and Social Security income. The White House claims Americans earning $30,000–$80,000 annually will see a 15% tax cut next year.
Border security and military funding: Allocates more funds to curb illegal immigration and boost US defense capabilities.
Curbing government waste: Seeks to eliminate “waste, fraud, and abuse” in federal programs.
Raising the debt ceiling: Proposes lifting the borrowing limit to enable the government to meet its obligations.

Attack on Biden

In another video posted earlier, Trump pledged major reinforcements to border and immigration enforcement. He said:
“We will hire 3,000 new Border Patrol officers and 10,000 new ICE agents, and these people are great! They’ve been there for me from day one… they endorsed me when I first ran… they’ve been my friends ever since.”Story continues below this ad
He also attacked the Biden adminration’s immigration stance, calling it the worst of many flawed policies.
“Well, we have a lot of dumb policies but the worst I think is open borders where anybody comes into our country… it’s so sad, what that man has done to the country, we should never forget it.”
