Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho wanted Atletico Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen | Football News

Alejandro Garnacho has been a crucial component of Ruben Amorim’s plans at Manchester United this season. The Argentine’s most recent performance for the Red Devils helped them cross the bridge against Olympique Lyon in the UEFA Europa League, 7-6 on aggregate. In light of his recent performances, several top clubs from Europe have expressed their interest in signing the young forward. Names like Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen and Chelsea are on the cards to bring home the exciting young talent.
Garnacho was brought to United in 2020 from Atletico Madrid, and quickly established himself as a starter at the club. The Argentine International has made a total of 136 appearances for the club, scoring 25 goals in the process. In this season alone, the 20-year-old has scored 9 goals and set up another 8 in all competitions.
The Argentine has made no effort in concealing the fact that his idol is Criano Ronaldo. Surprisngly, the player has surpassed his idol in terms of goal involvements in their first three seasons at United – 34 in comparison to Garnacho’s 43, and the season is not over yet.

Even though Atletico Madrid showed interest in the forward back in January, a deal could not be reached between the two sides. With the summer transfer window fast approaching and United looking to rebuild the squad in order to contend for the Premier League, several signings are to be made. The fact that the Red Devils do not have a massive transfer budget makes it necessary for a number of ‘big names’ to be sold, of which Garnacho remains an option.
German side Bayer Leverkusen are also interested in the winger. As per reports, the Red Devils have set an asking price for their star in the region of £70m.
