Modi can visit Central Vista site but not farmers: Cong

Several senior leaders of the Delhi Congress visited the Ghazipur border on Monday and extended support to the ‘Bharat bandh’ called by farmers’ unions to protest against the agricultural laws introduced by the Centre.

Delhi Congress president Anil Kumar said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi can find time to visit the construction site of the Central Vista project late at night but has no time to meet the farmers to solve their problems.

Kumar also attacked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, saying that he is shedding crocodile tears and showing false sympathy to the farmers as his Government was the first to validate the anti-farmer laws at a special session of the Delhi Assembly.

The Delhi unit Congress president, along with a large number of Congress workers, reached the Ghazipur border on Monday morning to extend solidarity to the farmers in their fight against the black laws. “Farmers are now educated and they understand the long-term implications of the three anti-farm laws which in the long run will edge them out of the farm sector with a select few corporate houses dictating terms to the farmers,” he added.
