My speech has been deleted,” says Ashok Gehlot Prime Minister’s Office responds
It will be Modi’s seventh visit to parliamentary Rajasthan, which is expected to vote on a new government later this year.
Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Sikar in Rajasthan today, a public altercation broke out after Prime Minister Ashok Gehlot accused the prime minister’s office of canceling a speech from the event.
Prime Minister Modi addressed the farmers event in Sikar after an exchange between his office and the Prime Minister on Twitter, stating:
“Ashiok Gehlot was supposed to participate in the program but he was unable to due to health reasons. We wish him a speedy recovery.”
Ashok Gehlot had posted this morning that Prime Minister Modi’s videoconference speech had been canceled by the PM’s office, so he could only greet him on Twitter. Today we will visit Rajasthan. His PMO at your company deleted his scheduled 3 minute speech, so I am unable to greet him with his speech. Therefore, I warmly welcome you all to Rajasthan with this tweet,” tweeted Ashok Gerot.
In his lengthy post, Mr. Gehlot enumerated the demands of the state that he would have made in front of the prime minister.
The prime minister’s office has since denied his allegations, saying it was the prime minister who dismissed the allegations on the grounds of his leg injury and that Mr Gerott was “very welcome to join the programme”. .
“According to protocol, you were formally invited and your speech was recorded. However, I was told by the office that I would not be able to attend. You have always been invited to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s previous visits and your presence has enriched these programs. Please join us for today’s program. Her name is also clearly mentioned on the nameplate of the development work. Unless you’re physically uncomfortable due to a recent injury, your presence is greatly appreciated,” the PMO tweeted. Mr. Gehlot immediately sent a letter certifying that he would participate in the prime minister’s broadcast remotely, but plans changed at the last minute.
“Dear Prime Minister, your office took note of my tweet, but it probably did not explain the facts. My address was saved in the Minutes Program proposed by the Ministry of Health. and I said I would not reply,” he wrote in Hindi. My office has told the Indian government that doctors expect me to participate in a video conference broadcast due to a leg injury and that ministers will arrive at the venue. Even now, I participate in this program in non-interactive mode through video conferencing for the state of Rajasthan. ”
It will be Modi’s sixth visit to parliamentary Rajasthan, which is expected to vote on a new government later this year. The BJP is trying to gain a foothold in the Jat-dominated Shikar district, where none of the eight seats are MLAs, with seven parliamentary MLAs and one independent.
