UP has made great strides in overall development Lays foundation stone of Buddhist theme park

Laying the foundation stone of a Rs 31.60-crore Buddhist theme park under Centre’s Swadesh Darshan scheme and launching a slew of development projects worth Rs 524.07 crore in Siddharthnagar district on Sunday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said overcoming all challenges, Uttar Pradesh had made strides in overall development.

Hailing the government reforms for unprecedented development of an aspirational district (Siddharthnagar), the chief minister said, “Despite facing wrath of natural calamities like floods, Siddharthnagar has made great progress. This has been possible because of several growth-oriented reforms implemented by the government at the ground level, along with ensuring safety of every individual.”

The chief minister announced the inauguration and laid the foundation of 300 development projects worth Rs 524.07 crore in five assembly constituencies. A major part, including 29 projects worth Rs 115.20 crore, have been dedicated to the Kapilvastu assembly constituency, while, projects worth Rs 58.33 crore in Domariaganj, projects worth Rs 45.74 crore in Shohratgarh, projects worth Rs 41.83 crore in Itwa and projects worth Rs 45.39 crore have been dedicated to the Bansi assembly constituencies.

To honour the spirit of 80 people who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence, a grand martyr memorial site will be built under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav at Domariaganj.

Hitting out at the opposition for neglecting development, the chief minister said, “None of the previous governments thought of building a medical college here. Has anyone thought why? The reason is that their development was just confined to their own benefit. Had they worked for the welfare of people, this place would have got a medical college long back.”

The medical college, built in the name of Madhav Babu, would provide affordable and accessible healthcare facilities to people living in adjacent districts as well as to people of Nepal, he added. He went on to say that unlike the previous governments, the Bharatiya Janata Party government fulfilled the aim of benefiting every eligible person and worked to push the unserved places on the path of development without discriminating on any basis.

Reiterating his resolve to eliminate crime and criminals, Yogi asserted, “Our government has freed 64,000 hectares of land from dreaded gangsters and mafia, where work for welfare of the poor is being done.”

Committed to the uplift of deprived and underprivileged by fulfilling the mantra of ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas aur sabka vishwas’, the chief minister said that over 30,000 people had been provided houses in Siddharthnagar and in addition, toilets had been built for three lakh people in the district.

On the occasion, Minister of State for Basic Education Dr Satish Dwivedi said that Uttar Pradesh had been transformed into ‘Uttam’ Pradesh. He said due to the efforts of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, ‘Mahakumbh’ secured a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest crowd management, largest sanitation drive and largest painting exercise of public sites. “For the development of the district, the government also provided a medical college. Besides, with a government degree college, five nagar panchayats were also given,” he added.

Domariaganj MLA Raghavendra Pratap Singh said that this was the same land where the Samajwadi Party government did not allow Yogi Adityanath to enter. “This is the same place where years ago daughters feared stepping out of their houses, however today, with the efforts of the government, the state has been transformed into a ‘safe’ place for women,” he said.
