Only a united opposition can defeat BJP: Shivpal

Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party Lohia (PSPL) president Shivpal Singh Yadav said that only a united opposition could defeat the BJP in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Yadav demanded a high-level probe into the alleged land purchase scam in Ayodhya.

Yadav was in Ayodhya on Sunday. He visited the Ram Lalla & Hanumangarhi temples and paid obeisance to the deities. On allegations levelled against the Ram temple trust, he said people from across the country made donations for the temple and every penny should be accounted for.

“The matter should be investigated by an impartial agency,” he said while reacting to the allegations made by the Aam Aadmi Party and Samajwadi Party against the temple trust and BJP.

“The UP Assembly elections are barely six months away and the campaign against the BJP must be intensified. PSPL had given a slogan two years ago and if all the parties join hands, the BJP can be dislodged from power,” Yadav said

Attacking the BJP, he said that the ruling party amassed huge wealth, thanks to the demonetisation. “The BJP is a party with deep pockets, yet they have taken donations by campaigning for the Ram temple,” Yadav said. He also accused the BJP of misusing the official machinery in a bid to win the district panchayat chairman elections.
