Petta box office collection Day 2: Rajinikanth film sets the ticket windows on fire

ajinikanth is on fire. In 2018, the Superstar had two back-to-back hits with the films Kaala and 2.0. Both the films turned out to be blockbusters but they failed to satisfy Rajinikanth fans, who missed the certain trademark ‘Rajini elements’ in the two films.

Director Karthik Subbaraj has now come up with a full-package for Rajinikanth fans. Petta, the masala entertainer, which released yesterday has become a huge hit for Rajinikanth.

The film, on the first day, earned about Rs 1.12 crore from the Chennai box office. It is also dominating the international market of Tamil cinema.

Rajinikanth’s Kaala earned Rs 1.44 crore on its second day in Chennai. However, since the day 1 box office of Petta is only around 1.12, it is predicted that on its second the film will rake in around Rs 1 crore.

The film is also facing tough competition from Ajith’s Viswasa, which has the upper hand in interior parts of Tamil Nadu.
