Raipur: Abducted baby found at railway station
RAIPUR: A 45-day-old infant who was abducted on Tuesday morning from Durg railway station was found near a warehouse at platform number 4 of on Wednesday.
The woman who abducted the infant escaped and the baby is in a perfect condition.
According to police officials, the baby girl was handed over to her parents. The woman who kidnapped the infant might have felt scared of being caught as the news of the baby being abducted went viral along with the information that police had CCTV footages. “Fear of getting caught may have forced the woman to leave the baby on station premises,” police said.
The baby was found near the foot over bridge on platform number 4 at around 10.30 am and was spotted first by RPF personnel, who immediately informed his seniors. Police said that a search was on to nab the accused and she would be arrested soon. However, incident of the infant being abducted indicates a trafficking racket from Maharashtra that is getting active in Durg district. Parents of the kid, Suraj Nishad and her wife, who were wailing all the while, said that it was their mistake to hand over the newborn in the hands of a stranger. The woman travelled with the couple from Raipur to Durg and took care of the infant throughout the journey. She took the infant in her arms in the journey.
The couple had two more kids, who she got friendly with and took them to get biscuits at a shop along with the infant in her arms. After buying biscuits for them, she asked them to go back to her parents saying she would join them soon. But she did not return after which the parents raised an alarm.
