Salman Nadvi dancing to PM Modi’s tunes, says Owaisi, calls for maulana’s social boycott

Hyderabad MP and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has called for a social boycott of All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) member Maulana Salman Hussain Nadvi. He also warned that once Muslim community gives up Babri Masjid’s land, the right wingers will target other mosques which they claim were built after demolishing temples.

Addressing a public meeting along with other prominent AIMPLB members at AIMIM headquarters in Hyderabad’s Darussalam, AIMIM chief Owaisi slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government for interfering in Muslim personal law and reiterated that AIMPLB will not compromise on the Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid land dispute and will fight it in Supreme Court.

He also came down heavily on Maulana Salman Hussain Nadvi, a prominent Muslim scholar, who stepped down from Muslim personal law board, after his meeting with Sri Sri Ravishankar created a huge controversy and several AIMPLB members asked for his removal from the board alleging a betrayal.

“Who are you, dancing on the tune of Modi. You only signed fatwas in April 2001 saying as per ‘Sharia’ no talks is possible on Babri Masjid, now why you are only accepting it.” Owaisi said.

He further added, “First they interfered in sharia by bringing Triple Talaq Bill, now Babri Masjid, later they will target all those 1000, 2000 mosques which they claim were temples. Now, they have also started propaganda over Taj Mahal claiming it as a mandir. We need to understand the plot.”

Owaisi asked the Muslim community to understand the importance of Muslim personal law board and boycott those who are harming the supreme Muslim body.

While targeting the Modi government, Hyderabad MP once again pitched for the unity of community and said that there is no question of compromise on Babri Masjid issue.

“We believe in the constitution and we have faith in the Hon’ble Supreme Court regarding the Babri Masjid issue.” Owaisi added.

He also criticised the central government on Triple Talaq Bill and termed it an attack on sharia.
