01Tesla board proposes $1 trillion pay package for CEO Elon MuskThe world’s richest man, Elon Musk, is likely to become even richer and the first-ever trillionaire, according to his new pay package, proposed Tesla’s board. The new pay package, which has to be approved shareholders, will see Musk’s fortunes touch unprecedented highs, provided he meets the goals set for the company. As the CEO, Musk will have to increase Tesla’s market valuation eightfold over the next decade — from its current $1.1 trillion to $8.5 trillion to fully unlock his pay package. Read more
02Outrage after MP Opposition leader says tribals are not HindusUmang Singhar, the Leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh, has courted controversy after saying that tribals are not Hindus. While speaking at an event in Chhindwara on Thursday, Singhar, a member of the Nhil community, the largest tribal group in Madhya Pradesh, said: “I say with pride that we are adivasis, not Hindus.” Responding to Singhar’s remarks, Chief Miner Mohan Yadav demanded an apology from the Congress leader. 03Thailand names Anutin Charnvirakul as new prime minerThailand’s parliament on Friday elected Anutin Charnvirakul as the country’s new prime miner. Anutin, the leader of the Bhumjaithai party, won a total of 311 votes, far exceeding the 247 required majority from the House of Representatives. He replaces Paetongtarn Shinawatra, who was dismissed court order last week as prime miner. Business tycoon Charnvirakul is the third prime miner of Thailand in two years. Read more
04Suspected Ebola outbreak in Congo claims 15 livesAt least 15 people have died in Congo in a suspected new Ebola outbreak in the central African country. According to Congo’s health minry, 28 people had shown symptoms of Ebola, out of which 15 have died. This is the 16th outbreak of Ebola, which has a fatality rate of 53.6 per cent, in Congo. The Ebola virus is highly contagious and can be contracted through bodily fluids such as vomit, blood, or semen. Read more
05Google’s Circle to Search gets new ‘Scroll and Translate’ featureGoogle’s Circle to Search feature, which was launched in 2024, is getting a major update, allowing users to scroll and translate text. This allows users to translate text even while scrolling on apps, including Facebook. To use the new feature, the user needs to open Circle to Search on the device, tap the “Translate” icon, and click on the “Scroll and translate” option. Read more
