US President Donald Trump on Friday announced that a significant prisoner swap between Russia and Ukraine was completed.
“A major prisoners swap was just completed between Russia and Ukraine. It will go into effect shortly. Congratulations to both sides on this negotiation. This could lead to something big???,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

Reuters quoted Ukrainian military intelligence officials as saying that Kyiv had submitted a l of 1,000 prisoners of war to Moscow ahead of the planned exchange. The agreement was reached earlier this month in anbul, during the first direct talks between the two countries in more than three years.
