US strikes didn’t destroy Iran nuclear sites, only set back programme months: Pentagon report | World News

The US strike on Iran’s nuclear sites on June 20 did not damage the core components of Tehran’s nuclear programme but has only set it back months, according to a US intelligence report prepared the Pentagon, CNN reported.
The report, prepared the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), was based on the assessment carried out the US Central Command upon the battle damage in the aftermath of US strikes on three key nuclear facilities of Iran. The report adds that the analysis of the extent of damage and impact to the sites after US strikes is still ongoing, and could change as more intelligence inputs become available.
However, the preliminary report the Pentagon’s intelligence arm contradicts President Donald Trump’s claims that Iran’s nuclear facilities were “completely and totally obliterated” in the US strikes carried out B-2 stealth bombers. Pentagon’s boss and Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth also reiterated President Trump’s claims on Sunday that Iran’s nuclear ambitions “have been obliterated.”
🚨FAKE NEWS CNN STRIKES AGAIN:
This alleged “assessment” is flat-out wrong and was classified as “top secret” but was still leaked to CNN an anonymous, low-level loser in the intelligence community.
The leaking of this alleged assessment is a clear attempt to demean…

The CNN report quotes two people familiar with the developments who said that stockpile of Iran’s enriched uranium was reportedly not destroyed in the US strikes and another person added that the centrifuges, targeted Israel and US both in its attack on Iran, have largely remained “intact”.

The intelligence assessment of the key nuclear sites was that about 400 kg of uranium, which Iran had enriched to a purity level of 60% just 30% short of producing a nuclear weapon, had been moved out prior to US strikes. The DIA reports states that the enriched uranium which could be put to use for manufacturing nuclear weapons, may have been moved to other secret nuclear sites maintained Iran.
“So the (DIA) assessment is that the US set them back maybe a few months, tops,” a person quoted CNN said.
The White House acknowledged the exence of the intelligence report but said that they disagreed with it. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt categorically disputed the report and said the assessment was “flat-out wrong”.

The White House press secretary further added “Everyone knows what happens when you drop fourteen 30,000 pound bombs perfectly on their targets: total obliteration.”
US Vice President JD Vance had admitted earlier that Washington wasn’t aware about the whereabouts of Iran’s enriched uranium, saying “We are going to work in the coming weeks to ensure that we do something with that fuel.”
