While You Were Asleep: No Messi no problem for PSG, De Gea error gifts West Ham win, Napoli see off Fiorentina

PSG avoided draction from noise surrounding Lionel Messi with a 3-1 win over Troyes. Chrophe Galtier’s side bagged all three points against Troyes as Kylian Mbappe, Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz goals take them to the brink of the Ligue 1 title.
Lionel Mess has been suspended the club after he missed practice on Monday while he was on a promotional trip to Saudi Arabia.
The Argentine has posted a short video on Instagram to ask for forgiveness and chalk up the controversy to a scheduling misunderstanding.

Kylian Mbappe scored in the eighth minute, Vitinha made it 2-0 before the hour. Xavier Chavalerin pulled a goal back for Troyes in the 83rd but Ruiz restored PSG’s two-goal advantage three minutes later.
De Gea fumbles again
David De Gea’s error in Manchester United’s 1-0 loss to West Ham loosened his team’s grip on the final Champions League qualification place on Sunday.
The Spain goalkeeper let Said Benrahma’s hopeful shot from 20 meters slip over his glove and into the net to condemn Erik Ten Hag’s team to back-to-back defeats in the Premier League, after a 1-0 loss at Brighton on Thursday.

United now lies just one point ahead of a rapidly advancing Liverpool, albeit with a game in hand, but an eighth loss on the road this season could prove as costly for the visitors as it was priceless for West Ham.
The Hammers climbed seven points above the relegation zone and are surely now safe ahead of two matches against AZ Alkmaar in the semifinals of the Europa Conference League.
Osimhen scores again
Napoli secured a 1-0 win over Fiorentina in Serie A on Sunday after league’s top scorer Victor Osimhen scored from the spot at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
It was the 47th Serie A goal for the 24-year-old, taking him past George Weah as top African scorer in the league’s hory.

Napoli wrapped up their first league title in 33 years on Thursday when a 1-1 draw at Udinese put them out of reach of their rivals for the Scudetto.
Osimhen could have put a relaxed Napoli in front from the spot three minutes into the second half but Terracciano saved his weak shot after the penalty was awarded for Sofyan Amrabat’s foul on Stanislav Lobotka.

Osimhen came close to contributing to the fans’ party in the stands 15 minutes later when he lobbed Terracciano with a well-measured effort but the ball hit the bar and ricocheted away.
The Nigerian striker redeemed himself when winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia won another penalty for Napoli in the 74th minute and Osimhen made no make from the spot this time.
