Yogi: Why is Akhilesh sympathetic and silent towards a terrorist?
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday slammed the Samajwadi Party, accusing it of being responsible for scams, fielding terrorists and criminals, and orchestrating riots every fourth day during its regime.
Yogi, who was addressing a series of public meetings in Lakhimpur Kheri, targeted his guns on the Samajwadi Party and said, “Father of one of the terrorists convicted by Ahmedabad court in bomb blast cases holds a position in Samajwadi Party and is campaigning for them. Akhilesh Yadav has not given a statement on it. I want to ask him why he has so much sympathy for terrorists? Is he not equally responsible for playing with the security of the country?”
Yogi said that the Ahmedabad court on Friday had pronounced the quantum of sentence for 38 terrorists in the 2008 serial blast case.
“Capital punishment and life imprisonment were awarded. They included some terrorists from UP too. The family members of one of them were seen with the SP chief, asking for votes for the party,” he added.
Criticising the opposition over the issue of law and order, corruption and nepotism, Yogi Adityanath said, “Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party Congress live for their families; they encouraged dynasties. If we talk about nationalism, they talk about casteism. Before 2017, celebrations were only limited to Saifai Mahotsava, today celebrations mean Deepotsava of Ayodhya, Rangotsava of Mathura-Vrindavan, Dev Deepawali of Kashi and celebrations of UP Diwas.”
Further attacking the SP, Yogi Adityanath charged that during the previous government rule “anndata (grain growers) used to commit suicide and the poor used to die of starvation, and people were forced to live in darkness”.
“There was a jungle raj and criminals overpowered the authorities. Police stations were run by history-sheeters, businesses were destroyed, youth was unemployed,” he added.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath went on to say that Uttar Pradesh, in a span of the last five years, had transformed to a ‘safer place’, had seen all-round development and was moving ahead with the leading states of the country.
“All promises made by the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2017 under (Narendra) Modi ji’s leadership have been fulfilled. Today, there are no riots and anarchy, no curfews are being imposed right before festivals,” he said.
The Gola Gokaran Nath Dham, Lakhimpur would be beautified on the lines of Kashi Vishwanath, Ayodhya, Mathura and soon the locals would get new avenues of employment, declared Yogi Adityanath.
The double engine government has always respected the faith of the people. After the beautification of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Ayodhya, and Mathura, Gola Gokaran Nath Dham will also be developed, he announced.
Attacking the SP and BSP, Yogi Adityanath asked people if they were getting power supply, and double-dose of ration presently. As the people replied in the affirmative, he asked again if they used to get it during the previous governments and went on to answer, “The previous governments used to like darkness and destruction.”
On the occasion, Yogi announced, “If our double engine government comes to power again then all the women older than 60 years of age will be given free access to travel in the state roadways corporation buses.”
Stating that earlier, the funds meant for the development of the state were sent to the “itra wale mitra”, Yogi added, “SP’s ‘itra wala mitra’ locked up funds and money meant for the state’s development and for the benefit the poor behind their RCC walls.”
The chief minister further said that soon people of Lakhimpur would have their own medical college and would not have to travel to places like Delhi, Lucknow for availing proper healthcare facilities. He said the SP and BSP got boundary walls of kabristan (cemetery) constructed, so they should better ask for votes from kabristan.
Lambasting Akhilesh Yadav’s party for always “misleading the public and defaming the state”, the chief minister said, “The SP leaders and workers were seen nowhere during the COVID-19 pandemic whereas the double-engine government at the Centre and the state used the money and resources to administer free vaccines to people, provide free treatment and to feed the poor”.
Highlighting the Covid management in the country and the state under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the chief minister said that the Uttar Pradesh government tried its best to save lives and livelihood during the pandemic, adding, “Bimari se bhi jyada maut bhook se hoti’ and that is the reason we provide free ration twice a month during COVID-19.”
Yogi said that the double engine government of UP waived loans of over 1,45,683 farmers from Lakhimpur. Similarly, he said, 6,200,71 farmers of Lakhimpur were getting Rs 6,000 annually under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and over 1,03,603 houses under PMAY/CMAY were provided in Lakhimpur.
