11 Dead and Several Injured in Accident; Deceased Were Relatives

RAIPUR: 11 killed and several others were injured including two critical in pickup vehicle and truck collision an official said. The accident reportedly occured on the intervening nights of Thursday and Friday in the Baloda Bazar-Bhatapara drict.
The deceased all belonged to the same family. Two children are also said to have succumbed to the collision. As per reports the pickup were returning from a function late night when a speeding truck rammed into it.
A team of police officials along with emergency team rushed to the spot said, SDOP, Bhatapara Siddhartha Baghel. All injured were immediately rushed to the hospital while the dead bodies were sent for postmortem, he added. Two amongst the injured are critical therefore have been recommended to a hospital in Raipur he said concluding his interaction with the media. He however, did not disclose about the truck driver.
A probe is launched to ascertain the cause of the accident.
