20% pvt hospital beds for govt insurance beneficiaries

The Chhattisgarh Health Department on Monday reserved 20 percent of the beds in private hospitals for Covid-19 patients taking treatment under the Dr Khubchand Baghel health scheme and Ayushman Bharat Scheme. “On Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s directive, 20 percent beds in private hospitals have been reserved for the beneficiaries of Dr Khubchand Bahgel Swasthya Sahayta Yojana and Ayushman Bharat Pradhanmantri Janarogya Yojana,” a press release said.

This reservation will cover Covid treatment units general ward, HDU bed with oxygen, ICU with ventilator and ICU without ventilators in private hospitals. According to the Health department, on Sunday, 10,521 fresh Covid cases were reported, taking the total positive cases so far in Chhattisgarh to 4.43 lakh.

Also on Sunday, 82 Covid patients died, pushing the death tally in the state to 4,899. Currently there are 90,277 active cases while 3.48 lakh people have recovered.
