2023 Chhattisgarh Polls: BJP’s initial lineup – 11 ST, 8 OBC, 1 SC, 1 General
Raipur: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its lineup of 21 nominees for the Chhattisgarh Assembly elections. This group showcases a representation with eight candidates each from the Backward Classes (OBC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST), one from the Scheduled Caste (SC) category, and one from the general category. Notably, this initial l highlights the party’s commitment to women’s representation as it includes 11 candidates.
In a move, the party has decided to field a Member of Parliament this time around. MP Vijay Baghel has been chosen to compete for the Patan Assembly seat. Other prominent contenders include Ramvichar Netam for Ramanujganj and Mahesh Sahu for Kharsia who will be replacing the candidate, OP Chaudhary.
Additionally, the BJP has named Indra Kumar Sahu as their candidate from Abhanpur, Rohit Sahu from Rajim, Lakhanlal Devangan from Korba and Shravan Markam from Sihawa. Representing the party in Kanker will be Asharam Netam, while Maniram Kashyap will vie for victory in Bastar.
The party has expressed their trust in Sarla Kosaria from Saraipali, Alka Chandrakar from Khalari, Bhulan Singh Maravi from PremNagar, Laxmi Rajwade from Bhatgaon and Shakuntala Singh Porte from Pratappur.
Pranav Marpachi, the leader of the drict BJP Scheduled Tribe Morcha, has been chosen as the party’s representative for the Marwahi assembly constituency. Praveen’s past contributions have also made him an important figure in the party’s lineup, although specific details about his candidacy are yet to be revealed.
