6 villages to be developed as ‘model’
RAIPUR: Six villages of Raipur district, which are rich in natural minerals, are soon to be developed as ‘Ideal villages’.
These villages will be entitled to the minor mineral royalty amount.
As per information, district collector OP Chowdhury has sanctioned Rs 8.39 crore for developing smart schools and initiate further advancement and facilities in these villages. The six villages include Dhansuli and Mura villages of Tilda development block, Mandir Hasaud, Bahnakadi, Nardaha and Dhansuli of Arang development block. Talking to TOI, Collector OP Chowdhary said, “The plan for upgrading these six villages aims at bringing about development of areas which are important for mining. The land owners are entitled to the Minor mineral royalty amount. We wish to accomplish our target within two years, for which the sanctioned amount will be converged with other government schemes.”
The development work is focused on developing smart schools encompassing upgraded features of E-learning classroom, green cover as oxy zones in schools, availability of basic infrastructure like toilets and parking stand. Other assured facilities includes potable water facility, up gradation of Gram Panchayat building, infrastructural facilities of garden and sitting area at village mortuary.
The villages that have a lot of minerals in and around them will be developed as ‘ideal village’ and the schools and Anganwadi centres will be developed as smart schools. Anganwadi centres will be equipped with television, home theatre, double gas cylinders and more. The district Collector said that the aim of developing these villages is to make these villages independent in efficient trading.
