Potai Faction Meets CG Governor Uike To Increase Reservations 10%

The Potai faction presented their demand to increase reservations 10%.Preparations are on to implement the bill as the GAD has formed a committee Earlier on October 2, the state assembly passed two bills amending the reservation ratio.

Raipur: Even though the reservation bill has been passed the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, the bill is now stuck with the governor. The Potai faction of the Chhattisgarh Sarv Adivasi Samaj has now presented their demand to increase reservations 10 percent. A delegation of the Samaj’s Potai faction reached to meet Governor Uike. BS Raote, the working president of the society, headed the delegation. There is a provision of 32% reservation for tribal society in the bill passed in the assembly.
Meanwhile, preparations are on to implement the bill as the General Adminration Department (GAD) has formed a committee of officers to make reservation roster afresh.
Secretary, GAD, Dr. Kamalpreet Singh constituted a committee of five officers to decide the reservation roster for recruitments of the state government and drict cadre. Secretary K. D. Kunjam has been made the chairman of this committee. Dr. Anil Kumar Virulkar, Research Assant Officer of Tribal Research and Training Institute has been kept as a member of this committee.
Earlier on October 2, the state assembly passed two bills amending the reservation ratio. There is a provision to give 13% reservation to Scheduled Castes, 32% to Scheduled Tribes, and 27% to OBCs. Besides, 4% reservation has been given to the poor of the general category. Also, the poor of the general category will get reservations in proportion to their population in dricts and a maximum of 4%.
