Raipur: Farmers from all over the state took part on the second day of the Rath Yatra as farmers demand legal status for support prices. The Kisan Morcha is leading Yatra as it will start from the Azad Chowk area and also cover a few rural areas. The farmers put their opinions on different matters and told the media about their interests. The farmers began this Rath Yatra for the legalization of the support price of the crops on Tuesday, 25th April from Raipur. According to the sources, it is expected to end on May 2, and farmers from different parts of the state have participated in this Rath Yatra.
The crop purchase and sale market is closed for many days, and the farmers demand to reopen the same at the support price. Along with that, they have also requested 100% employment for the unemployed people in Chhattisgarh. Another demand which they’ve put forward along with the labours and students is that the mother tongue of Chhattisgarh must be compulsory across all the primary schools in the state.
Through this Rath Yatra, the farmers will visit various rural areas of Chhattisgarh to ask them about their issues and stop the exploitation they’re suffering from.
