Deadline Approaches for Unauthorized Constructions in Bhilai
Raipur- Those who have constructed buildings without permission or made alterations against the approved plans have only one month left to regularize their properties. The regularization scheme, in effect for one year from July 14, 2022, until July 13, 2023, allows individuals to rectify their makes. The government and the corporation adminration are urging people to take advantage of this opportunity before facing strict consequences.
Currently, the Bhilai Corporation has received approximately 3,929 applications for regularization. Of these, 1,035 cases have been resolved, while 1,791 applications are still under review the Town and Country Planning Department. A staggering 5,000 unauthorized constructions, including residential and non-residential structures, have been identified within the corporation’s jurisdiction.
Himanshu Deshmukh, the building permission officer of the corporation, expects the number of applications to exceed 5,000, surpassing the previous regularization period in 2016. Trained architects conduct site inspections to assess whether the builders have complied with parking space and access road requirements, adhered to floor area ratio guidelines, and maintained proper land use within the properties.
To apply for regularization, applicants must provide information such as electricity bills and property tax records, accompanied a map prepared a regered architect or engineer from the corporation.
