Chhattisgarh Witnesses Adminrative Reshuffle with Transfer of 14 IAS Officers Ahead of Assembly Elections

Raipur- In preparation for the assembly elections, Chhattisgarh has recently experienced an adminrative reshuffle with the transfer of 14 Indian Adminrative Service (IAS) officers. This reshuffle includes changes in the collectors of two dricts and other important positions. The General Adminration Department has issued the official order to implement these transfers.
According to the order Saurabh Kumar, who previously served as the Bilaspur Collector, has now been appointed the Collector of Korba. In turn, Sanjeev Kumar Jha, previously serving as the Korba Collector, has now assumed the role of Bilaspur Collector. Additionally, Jitendra Kumar Shukla has been appointed as the Managing Director of the tourism department. He will also take on responsibilities as the food and civil supplies department director.
As part of this reshuffle, changes have also occurred in two corporations’ commissionerships. Pratishtha Mamgai, a 2018 batch officer, is now assigned as commissioner of Korba Municipal Corporation, while Abhishek Kumar assumes the commissioner position for Ambikapur Municipal Corporation.
It is worth noting that Prabhakar Pandey, a state adminrative service officer who previously held the position of Korba Municipal Commissioner, has been transferred to serve as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Mungeli Drict Panchayat. This transfer follows an incident where enforcement authorities raided his house on July 20th.
The upcoming assembly elections have made adminrative changes all the more crucial. The Election Commission has issued instructions for a resolution regarding transferring and posting officers across government departments in Chhattisgarh. These reshuffles are aimed at streamlining processes in the state. It is expected that more transfers will occur after this round, with performance evaluations playing a role in determining future changes.
Moreover, on the day, six Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, 533 sub-inspectors and 66 inspectors were also transferred. Some officers received promotions, while others were assigned roles as part of an adminrative overhaul.
