Chhattisgarh: 60 Join BJP, Health Workers Protest with ‘Jail Bharo’; Raksha Bandhan Train Starts Today
Raipur: Today, Chhattisgarh’s political landscape is buzzing with significant news that resonates with the public’s interests. Notably, the BJP in Gariaband has witnessed an influx of members as over 60 workers, primarily from the Congress party, have chosen to align with them. Meanwhile, the Railways has launched a special train service in celebration of Rakshabandhan. Additionally, health workers across the state are participating in a ‘jail bharo’ protest.
Gariaband is the epicenter of a political tremor for the Congress party. In the run-up to the elections, the party has faced a substantial setback as numerous Congress workers, mainly from Darlipara in Bindranavagarh, have defected to the BJP. These workers, hailing from the native village of the Congress drict vice president, have now been inducted into the BJP the state vice president, Bhagirath Manjhi.
Chief Miner Bhupesh Baghel had a packed schedule today, marking his presence in both Bilaspur and Durg. He graced the Sankalp Camp event in Bilaspur and is slated to participate in subsequent events throughout the day, concluding with the inauguration of The Kauhi Lift Irrigation Scheme and a visit to the Shiva temple in Kauhi village of Patan.
For the festive occasion of Rakshabandhan, the state’s residents have received a gift from the Railways. A special Raipur-Dongargarh MEMU train service will operate from August 28 to 31, offering passengers more travel options. Nevertheless, there are certain disruptions to regular services. Multiple trains have been suspended until September 3 due to ongoing construction and maintenance of a third railway line. This development is seen as a step forward in enhancing the railway infrastructure in the region.
