Second Covid wave more deadly, we need all cooperation: Baghel
Describing the second wave Covid-19 infection as more deadly, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday sought cooperation from social organizations to deal with the pandemic. Baghel made the remarks through video conference at a meeting with the heads of various societies. Speaking frankly, he said the government has limited resources. The association of society with the government increases the resources manifold. Like last year, active cooperation of all the members of the society is necessary now, he said. He thanked various social organizations for the assistance provided. The Chief Minister said the second wave of Corona epidemic is more deadly. I’s virus is more infectious. This time there is a need to be more vigilant. He said lockdown is necessary to check the rapidly spreading infection. He asked the community chiefs to tell people to follow the safety measures seriously.
Delay in treatment increases infection and can be fatal, Baghel warned.
Representatives of various groups said they were ready to extend help by offering their buildings, hostels, volunteers, providing food, oxygen supply and anything else needed to battle Covid-19. The video conference was attended by Manwa Kurmi Samaj, Chhattisgarh Kanwar Samaj, Rajput-Kshatriya Mahasabha, Maheshwari Samaj, Chhattisgarh Sindhi Panchayat, Maharashtra Mandal, Sahu Samaj, Christian Society, Jain Samaj and Dewangan Samaj.
