Roll back fuel price hike: Congress
Continuing the agitation against fuel price hike, the women’s wing of the Congress on Sunday staged protests at all district headquarters in Chhattisgarh.
Rajya Sabha member Chhaya Verma led a demonstration here in Raipur. All senior office bearers of the district unit were present.
An empty LPG gas cylinder and an empty kerosene can were displayed at the protest sites and women activists demonstrated by preparing food on ‘chulha’.
The Congress MP flayed the decision of the Union government to hike the price of fuels, saying this had led to a rise in prices of all essential commodities.
“BJP leaders who were vocal even when fuel prices went up by Rs 5 during Congress regime are now silent,” she said.
She announced that the women’s’ wing would continue the protests till the hike was not taken back.
“There is a huge difference between what Prime Minister Narendra Modi says and does, leading to his failure in controlling the skyrocketing price rise.”
