Vaccination for all categories under one roof from today
The drive to vaccinate people of all categories against Covid-19 will take place in Chhattisgarh at a single centre from June 21. The number of such centres will be increased soon to hasten the vaccination.
The campaign will cover health and frontline workers as well as those in the 18-44 and 45- plus categories.
With the Central government taking over the free Covid vaccination drive across the country from June 21, the services of ‘CG Teeka’ portal for registration in the 18-44 age category is being withdrawn.
Now, the registration has to be done on the CoWIN portal of the Central government, Harsha Puranik, Joint Director (PR), told the media on Sunday.
The priority groups of 45-plus, Antyodaya, BPL, APL and other categories have been retained. The district immunisation officers will make necessary arrangements accordingly, she said.
Vaccination in private hospitals has been permitted. The mandatory clause of online registration has been lifted. Authorities of the Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) have stated of opening vaccination centres in each ward of the capital city, she added.
The target population for vaccination in the 45-plus category is 58.66 lakh and in the 18-44 age category 1.30 crore in the state. At present Chhattisgarh has a stock of 21.33 lakh doses of vaccine.
The Covid-19 positivity rate has further dipped to 1.1 percent in the state.
