CM Baghel for campaign to distribute forest land certificates

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday told officers to conduct a special campaign to distribute individual and community forest land rights certificates (van adhikar patta) in the districts of Bastar zone.

Baghel gave the instruction while reviewing the work of the Tribal Welfare Department here.

The Chief Minister told the officials to organize special camps to provide the forest land rights certificates in Dantewada, Sukma, Bijapur and Narayanpur districts of Bastar region.

He said that to provide social and economic stability to the people in forested regions, it is necessary to give them the right to use the land. He said the distribution of forest land lease should commence from villages adjoining the district headquarters so that the beneficiaries can benefit under various government schemes as well, an official communication said.

The Chief Minister said that Devgudi is the center of faith for the tribals, and the government intends to preserve Devgudis and develop Devgudi sites in a better way. There wll be no shortage of funds for this work.

Baghel also reviewed the teaching-learning situation in educational institutions such as Prayas residential schools.
