Lost glory of villages to be revived: CM
The Chhattisgarh government wants to revive the lost glory of villages, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Thursday.
Addressing the oath taking ceremony of the Farmer’s Welfare Council, he said the government was committed to strengthening the rural economy by providing work to everyone in villages.
So many schemes have been launched in line with this thinking, he said.
“Before British rule, villages remained the production and commercial hub and the cities were just the trading centres,” he said.
“Industries were established during the British rule which changed the scenario and rural people started moving to cities in search of better opportunities,” he said.
This scenario must be changed and work for rural people should be made available in villages, he said. Only by doing so the rural economy will strengthen.
Gothans (cowsheds) have been established in villages to make villagers self-dependent and for betterment of the livestock.
