‘Govt will do everything to help youths realise dreams’

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday said the government is making all efforts to provide youths the right platform to enhance and provide better opportunities so that they can unlock their dreams.

He was addressing people on the topic ‘Young Dreams and Chhattisgarh’ through the monthly radio programme Lokvaani aired on Sunday. It was the 25th episode.

Baghel said: “Chhattisgarh is a young state at 21. The youth have to unleash their talents and work hard to fulfill their dreams to build ‘Nava Chhattisgarh’.”

He said January 12 marks the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, celebrated as ‘Youth Day’. Since 2020, January 12 is being celebrated as ‘Yuva Mahotsav’.

Swamiji had said that human society would have been far more advanced today if they shun violence in the name of religion, caste and community. He aimed to create spiritual awareness among people of every religion.

The Chief Minister said that ‘Rajiv Yuva Mitaan Club’ were being set up in 13,269 urban bodies and village panchayats to provide a platform for youths. The state has released Rs 19.43 crores to these clubs as grants.

The youths of Chhattisgarh have been provided jobs in the government and private sectors. But still agriculture remains the key sector, he said.

Now, institutionalized arrangements for processing, packaging and marketing of crops have been taken up. Arrangements for research, study and innovation in agriculture too have been taken up, Baghel said.
