C’garh contributed in every era: CM
Greeting the people of Chhattisgarh on the occasion of Ram Navami, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Sunday that the state has made vital contributions in every era, from ‘Treta Yuga’ to modern times.
He was speaking after offering prayers at the Shri Ram Panchayatan temple, Sankat Mochan-Lord Hanuman, and Balaji Bhagwan at Dudhadhari Math here. He also visited the Samadhi of Mahant Rajeshree Balabhadra Das, an official communication said.
He said Lord Ram arrived in present day Chhattisgarh in ‘Treta Yuga’. During the Buddhist period, Sirpur (Mahasamund district) became a religious and educational centre.
During freedom struggle, freedom fighters like Shaheed Gundadhur, Amar Shaheed Gendh Singh, Amar Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh made everyone proud. Chhattisgarh has also excelled in the field of writing and literature.
He said the state is developing the ‘Ram Van Gaman tourism circuit’ in memory of Lord Ram who spent his maximum period of his exile in the area that now forms Chhattisgarh.
