Godhan scheme getting nationwide accolade: CM
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday said the flagship Godhan Nyay Yojana was a much talked about scheme across the country and other states too are contemplating to implement it.
Baghel said this while virtually releasing an amount of Rs 6.59 crore to cattle owners, Gauthan committees and women Self-Help Groups at a programme here.
Godhan Nyay Yojana is being operated on a mission mode in the state. With its successful implementation, more than 3,000 Gauthans have become self-supporting, he said.
“This is a notable achievement in the direction of making the villagers and livestock farmers self-reliant.”
Baghel added that Gauthans have set an example of being self-sufficient, purchasing cow dung worth more than Rs 13 crores using their own funds.
Agriculture Produce Commissioner Dr. Kamal Preet Singh and Secretary Dr. S. Bharathidasan gave a detailed presentation on the achievements of Godhan Nyay Yojana.
