DA to govt employees hiked by 5%
Chhattisgarh’s Finance Department on Monday issued an order for a hike of 5 percent additional Dearness Allowance to government employees. It will benefit more than 4 lakh employees and about one lakh pensioners.
The order has been issued within 24 hours of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s announcement made to mark the Labour Day on May 1. He had announced a 5 percent Dearness Allowance.
The order states that as per the earlier order of the department, from July 2021, the employees were being given Dearness Allowance at the rate of 17 percent in the 7th pay scale and 164 percent in the 6th pay scale.
Now, as per the new order from May 1, 2022, with a hike of 5 percent Dearness Allowance, the employees will get at a rate of 22 percent in the 7th pay scale and in the 6th pay scale at the rate of 174 percent (considering inflation).
The order said the increased DA will be paid in cash from May 1, 2022.
Dearness allowance will be calculated on the basis of basic pay. It will not include special pay and personal pay.
