Doctors cure half the disease with smile: CM
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday heaped praise on doctors and said they cure half the disease with a smile.
He was speaking at the Doctor’s Day function organised by the Chhattisgarh chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) here.
Lauding the efforts of doctors during the Covid-19 pandemic, Baghel said: “They have been given the stature of God and they are the one who serve the mankind with complete dedication without caring for their own life.”
Recalling Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy, a former Chief Minister of West Bengal, Baghel said he preferred that people called him a Doctor, not a politician.
The Chief Minister felicitated 24 doctors and nine social organizations for their exemplary contribution during the pandemic.
Earlier, IMA Chhattisgarh chief Dr Vikas Agrawal honoured the Chief Minister with a state turban and threw light on Dr Roy, whose birthday is observed as a Doctor’s Day.
