Police Busts Interstate Ganja Smuggling Plan

Youth nabbed with ganja worth Rs 1.47 lakh. The arrest took place at Balodgahan Tiraha, Jagtra toll.The accused was smuggling ganja from Orissa to UP via Chhattisgarh.

Balod: The Balod police on Saturday foiled a Ganja Smuggling, officials said.

Preliminary investigations revealed the accused was involved in smuggling Ganja from Orissa to Uttar Pradesh via CG. The accused- a 22 year old resident from UP, Govind Kumar was nabbed near Jagtra toll gate after he resed to go through the security and eloped. However, the team of Purur PS in-charge Arun Sahu, Assant Sub-Inspector Rupeshwar Bhagat, constable Likhan Sahu, Gunesh Yadav, Kishore Sahu, Sandeep Yadav, Domendra Raote chased and caught him red handed at Balodgahan Tiraha.

Around 14kgs and 700 gms worth Rs1.47 lakh Hemp was recovered from the possession of the accused,police said.
