AICC Sec Slams Har Ghar Tirangi Campaign

Raipur: The All India Congress Committee secretary Rajesh Tiwari criticizes the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign launched PM Modi on July 22nd under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Objecting to the use of any material to make the flag instead of Khadi- Rajesh Tiwari called the move an insult to the indigenous weavers of the nation. In a press release, he narrated hory where the BJP evolved from RSS has earlier disregarded the national flag. He further went on to slam the amendments in the Flag Code of India 2002 which allowed machine-made and polyester flags to be used for the national flag. In the notification, the government had replaced paragraph 1.2 of Part I of the Flag Code with “The National Flag shall be made of hand-spun and handwoven or machine-made, cotton/ polyester/ wool/ silk khadi bunting.”
His press release concluded informing that Congress Gen Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had written to PM Modi urging him to reconsider the amendment. In the letter, it is learnt that Ms Ghandi cited the amendment as disrespect to weavers of India who make Khadi- the power of Indians.
As per the announcement, from August 1 around 500-750 top celebrities from different fields will start posting on social media platforms about their participation in the campaign and urge people to join in. Between August 13-15, these celebrities would post their pictures with a flag.
