Alka Rai urges Priyanka not to save Mukhtar
In another emotional letter to Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Alka Rai, widow of slain MLA Krishnanand Rai, has urged her not to save Bahujan Samaj Party MLA Mukhtar Ansari.
Alka Rai, wife of late BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai who was murdered in Ghazipur in 2005, wrote to the Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and accused the Punjab government of blatantly providing protection to accused Mukhtar Ansari. In the letter, she expressed her agony and described her struggle while fighting for justice during the past 14 years.
Alka wrote that several people like her have been anxiously waiting for Mukhtar Ansari to be punished for his crimes and urged Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to show some sensitivity towards the suffering of the common people.
In her letter, Alka Rai said that the Congress and its government in Punjab were shielding and treating the dreaded gangster Ansari like a “state guest”.
She accused Punjab’s Jail Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa of enjoying hospitality of notorious criminal Mukhtar Ansari during his trip to Lucknow and also mentioned about the threat to her life from the jailed politician.
“We are all suffering. If anything untoward happens, you (Priyanka Gandhi Vadra) and your party (Congress) will be responsible,” Alka Rai said.
She questioned the intentions of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra behind shielding such gangsters who were not only a threat to society but were detrimental to the tranquility and harmony of the entire nation.
It may be mentioned that Alka Rai has been writing letters continuously to the Congress general secretary with the hope that she would respond and take appropriate action.
