Baghel, Raman exchange barbs over CAG report
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday attacked BJP leader and former Chief Minister Raman Singh for his tweet on a report of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG).
Citing details of the CAG report, Baghel said Singh had exposed himself with his tweet as the allegations of failing to use the funds allotted to the Chhattisgarh Road Development Corp Ltd (CGRDCL) happened primarily during the BJP regime.
“In 2018-19, the BJP ruled for nine months and the Congress for just three months. The BJP was thus responsible for the funds lying idle,” he said.
Baghel turned poetic: “Darkar Aaina Dekhne Se Inkar Karta Hai, Fir Bhi Khud Hi Khud Ko Benakab Karta Hai.”
Bifurcating the use of funds, Baghel said from the Rs 1,157 crore allotment to CGRDCL, the BJP utilized only Rs 322.80 crores over nine months — or just 27.9 percent.
Thus, Raman Singh is exposing himself and the idleness of his government, said Baghel.
