Baghel slams Yogi Govt after denied landing
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel slammed the Yogi Government in Uttar Pradesh for not allowing him to land at the Lucknow airport on Monday.
He was to visit Lakhimpur Kheri a day after eight people were killed in violence after a car mowed down protesting farmers.
Talking to the media persons here, he questioned if civil rights have been abolished in Uttar Pradesh.
“Are there no civil rights in Uttar Pradesh? Whether a separate visa is required for going to Uttar Pradesh?” the Congress leader asked.
Congress has recently appointed Baghel as its senior observer for the upcoming Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh. Baghel wondered why he was prevented from landing in Lucknow if prohibitory orders were in force only in Lakhimpur Kheri.
He, later, headed to New Delhi to discuss a strategy to visit Uttar Pradesh after discussions with senior leaders there.
