Beware of fake calls for Covid vaccine: Police
Police in Chhattisgarh’s Kabirdham district on Wednesday told people to be beware of thugs making fake calls in the name of Covid-19 vaccine registration.
Kabirdhan Superintendent of Police Dr. Lal Umend Singh said in an advisory that fraudsters have been making calls according to complaints, an official communication said.
The caller seeks information related to Aadhaar card and email. For verification of the Aadhaar card, he also seeks one time password received on the mobile phone.
This helps the cheats to withdraw money from people’s bank accounts, the officer said.
He added that the vaccination was being done on the basis of guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. No agency has been authorized to carry out registration for vaccination.
